Hi! I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village. I am going to show you some tips and techniques that I use when exercising my horse when using calisthenics. So the first training exercise we will do, is we are going to bump our horse around to the left side here. So what we are going to do is take our left rein and open it up and bump it back by our hip and we are going to be using our outside legs to push our horse in the left direction. We are also going to be keeping some steady contact on our outside rein which is our right rein so that our horse doesn't leap out and go the opposite way and we are going to make sure we are looking where we are going. By doing this, it softens your horses neck and pull and mouth to the left side so your horse will be more responsive on that side. It will be a lot softer, be more responsive to you and this helps to kind of free your horse up so that she will be a lot more supple in your hands. So again, you are just going to be pulling your left rein out to the side; just give it a little bump with your finger if you need to, kicking around with your right leg and keeping steady pressure on your right rein. So that is how you want to bump around to the left.
