How to Comb a Horse Tail After Bathing

I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you some tips and techniques I use on bathing my horse. So now we have our horse really nice and conditioned especially the tail. So we are just going to take our tail brush, we are going to go through and kind of comb through her tail to ensure it would dry tangle free. So we are going to stand off to the side, we don't want to stand directly behind her in case she would kick. You can see after we put that leave in how easily that brush just glides right through her wet tail. After you shampoo a horses tail being their tail are usually really thick and really coarse, they are really difficult to comb through. So that is why using a really great conditioner especially I would prefer a leave in is really imperative cause you can see that I'm having absolutely no difficulty combing through her tail at all. The brush is just gliding right through. I might have a few tangles here and there but they are really easily worked out. The nice thing about this particular leave in is that after her tails dries, her tail is going to stay really nice and tangled free, and manageable for a few days. So also too kind of come around and brush through her forelock and brush her mane as well. So that is how you want to brush through your horses tail.
