Hi, I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you some tips and techniques that I use to band my horses mane. So now that I have her mane sectioned, what I like to do is helps your band lay a little bit flatter and a little bit tighter. I actually take my section and I would do a couple of braids in it. So what I would do is split into 3 sections and you are going to cross one over the other to create a braid. So I would just do like maybe 1 or 2 braids in there. I'm making sure that I'm pulling down on it and that would just make it lie flatter to keep it tight. Cause when you put your band in you want your band tight up against the skin but you don't want it sticking up or popping out. So if you just apply a lot of downward pressure, it is going to keep your band really nice and tight. By doing the braid it keeps your mane really nice and tight together, it keeps it pulling in a lot of downward pressure on your horse neck. It allows you to put your band in, in the proper spot. So that is what I like to do, I like do a couple of braids right there before I put my band in.
