How to Trim the Bridle Path of a Horse

Hi, I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you some tips and techniques that I use to band my horses mane. So the next thing we are going to do before we prepare to band is we are going to trim our horses bridle path. So that is the section right in here where the bridle and the halter sit. It is usually about a couple of inches long. So we want to get that trim so we are going to take our little hand held clippers here and just kind of go over it. Trim off any excess stable that has grown so it is nice and short, nice and smooth. You want to make sure that you don't get your bridle path to long and then end up cutting off to much mane. This would just give it a much smoother appearance, a much neater appearance. Then you can go over and get with the scissors if you have any little sections that you couldn't get with the clippers. Just kind of even it out a little bit. So now you have a nice smooth bridle path that is stubble free, nice and clean. So that is how you want to trim your horse bridle path.
