Hi! I'm Kelli and on behalf of Expert Village, I am going to show you some tips and techniques I use to place a tail extension in a horses tail. So basically what a tail extension is it is a basically tie in horse tail to make your horses tail look fuller or longer. Most people that use this are showing on your performance horse, breed shows like your Appaloosa's, your quarter horses, your Palomino's. It is more popular in that than in your hunter, jumpers that type of thing. So you want to make sure that the color of your tail extension matches the color of your horses tail and then that you tie it in properly and make sure that it is not being shown. What it does is it creates a fuller illusion to your horse's tail which in turn creates a fuller illusion of a fuller rump which just causes your horse to look more appealing when you are showing in the pleasure horse discipline such as western pleasure or hunter under saddle in your breed shows such as your quarter horses, your Palomino's and your Appaloosa's.
