Personal Finance Tips
Almost every spreadsheet program that you work with will allow you to color code. And that, when you look at what we've done here you will see how much the color codes add to keeping everything straight. It's just a lot easier on your eye. What we did here on status is use, remember the sequence here has been weight, receipt and paid. So we used a red, yellow, green light schematic idea to color code these this way. Over here, amount paid, we've got that in yellow, budget amount in orange and then budget minus paid the difference in yellow. So if we follow these color codes down. All of our budget totals are in orange all the way through. And on the amounts paid, the money going out, our monthly bills is in yellow. Down here on the other total it's in yellow and then the total of all of our monthly expenditures, that's in yellow. Green is money coming in. so you can see that was total paid. That's in green. And then our difference is in blue. And by bolding all of these totals it adds, it makes it a lot more distinctive and easy to pick out and work with. So you can see that really adds a lot to just keeping everything straight. So I'd recommend if you're comfortable with this that you give it a shot.
