Piano Roll Options in Logic Pro 8

The next thing I'm going to show you about is the extra piano roll options. Within the piano roll, there's extra options to control different parts of the MIDI data. Now, once your piano roll opens, it's going to look something like this. This little icon at the bottom is going to open up a completely different screen, which controls different aspects of each note. Now there's a lot of different things in here that you can change with like the volume, and the balance, and things like that. All this stuff is going to be recorded. So as you change it here, as the song plays, it's going to change. So this is great for adding little changes in the song and parts that the volume might be not exactly where you want it to be, you can change just that little part and change volume just a little bit, so that you can get your desired sound. In certain things, this is very important, as far as with note velocity and things like that, if you're playing certain chords, you might want certain chords to be over other notes. Other notes to be stronger than later ones, so you might want to just change the velocities to your desired setting.
