Hi, I'm Johan Svahnstrom on behalf of Expert Village. When you've decided what kind of snake you're going to get and you've picked up an appropriate tank for that particular snake, you need to figure out where to put that cage in your home. Now, I am in southern Florida and I'm going to use this tank for a sub-tropical animal so I'm actually going to be putting it outside. It's very important to check your requirements for the specific snake that you're getting and where you live compared to that. If you live in southern Florida or Southern California or Southern Texas, you might be able to get away with putting your snake outside and it might be very beneficial for that snake to be outside most of the year. However, if you live in Canada or the Northern United States and keep a tropical snake, you definitely need to keep it inside with the appropriate requirements for that snake. The key is research. Get yourself some books on the snake that you're going to get and see what kind of temperature they need.
