I'm Kellie. On behalf of Expert Village I am going to show you some tips and techniques that I use to basic horse care. So, one of the things you wanna do to make sure that your horse is getting the adequate nutrients that it needs is make sure that it has the proper amount of forage. And if your horse isn't turned out a lot on a daily basis or you don't have a pasture where there is a lot of good quality grass available, you wanna make sure that your horse is getting an adequate quality and amount of hay. So hay usually comes separated in flakes, so, this is about three flakes of hay, which is about um a good amount for an average feeding on a daily basis. This is a coastal grass hay. Hay comes in many different kinds and uh textures. So alphalpha usually you'll find more up north where you have richer soil very high in protein very rich. Your grass hays are a little bit um lower amount of protein so you may need to supplement with a higher protein, um, grain or pellet feed whatever you're feeding. So this is an adequate amount of hay to give to your horse on a daily basis. Usually you want to give that amount two to three times a day.Horses need to keep eating, need to keep the gasses in their stomach flowing. So that's a good amount of hay that you can feed on a daily basis.
