How to Use the Smart & Drag Features in Logic Pro 8

The next thing I'm going to talk about is the smart and the drag options. The smart tool is basically the tool that lets you, it dictates how your regions are going to move as you move them. So it's like... is it going to snap to the bar, are you going to be able to freely like move it from left to right, and the drag is how things like, connect, like if you drag something over something, is it going to overlap, are they going to combine, are they going to fade together. That's the things you could take care of within the arrange window. If you go to the snap option right here, the smart tool is basically the smartest tool that you can use. It's the one that knows all the different types and it basically like figures out which one is the best scenario for you within setting up that track. You could also do it by the bar, the beat, the division, takes, frames, and samples, things like that. You could also do the drag which basically, it's like when you overlap something, it's going to dictate whether it overlaps or if it isn't going to overlap, you can also in X-fade, and you can shuffle. So make sure that so always the one on the left is always overlapping the right one, or always the right one is overlapping the left one.
