Common 1040EZ Tax Form Mistakes
Now that we've completed the form, there's some common mistakes that it always pays to do a little double-check before you send everything off. The first thing you want to do is you want to make sure you've got the correct Social Security numbers and that the names are correct, and everything matches on the forms. You also want to double check your math, and make sure that everything adds correctly. You want to go back to the tables and make sure that you've looked at the right numbers and picked the right amounts for your taxes and that you've not got any errors there. If you've got a peel off label, you want to make sure that it shows the correct information, and if it doesn't, you want to not use the label, and just enter the correct information by hand in the spaces that are provided. You also want to make sure that you include all of your forms, W-2's, any form 1099 interest forms, INT, or anything like that, and if you owe taxes, you want to make sure that you include on your check or money order, the information that the IRS requires.
