Shoulder Releasing Yoga Poses

Shoulder release is a wonderful way to relieve stress in the shoulders and also to get a full rotation in the shoulder joints. So, inhaling, take the left arm up, bring the elbow behind your head and then bend your left arm. Take your right hand to your left elbow, and for a lot of people this is as far as you want to go. Hold onto your elbow and you can let the chin tip forward if it helps. And just breathing naturally, letting the belly button move away from your spine on the inhale and as you exhale gently pulling the belly button back in toward the spine. Take a couple of breaths and when it’s time to release, take the arms up, out to the side and down. And then the other side, right arm comes up, tipping your chin forward as much as you need to, bend the right arm, take a hold of the right elbow with the left hand and then settling into your breath for several repetitions. Letting the belly button move away from your spine on your inhale, exhale pulling the belly button back to the spine. And after several breaths, releasing smoothly, taking the arms up, out to the side and down.
