Violin Scales in Eb (Flat) Major: Tone

Now I'm going to talk to you about how to get a good sound on your violin. People think that you have to grip onto the bow and really hold it very tightly. But really you just have to be relaxed. Your fingers have to be relaxed, your wrist have to be relaxed because you have to be able to move. You can't be like this or you would sound like a wooden box. So here is a example of how not to play a scale. That is not good. It was a very distorted sound, it was scratchy, it is not what we want for this. What we want is a nice clean sound. Not to loose, just enough pressure to keep it so that the tone is beautiful just like this.
