Violin Scales in Eb (Flat) Major: Eighth Scale Degree

Let's play our E flat major scale again. 1st scale degree, 2nd scale degree, 3rd scale degree, 4th scale degree which is a A flat, B flat our 5th, C natural our 6th, D natural our 7th. Now let's talk about our 8th scale degree which is a E flat. Remember our 8th scale and our 1st scale degree are the same note they are both E flat, they are played on a different part of the violin. As you can see our 1st scale degree E flat was the first finger on the D string. Now E flat is D 4th finger on the A string. Between our 7th scale degree and our 8th scale degree is a half step.
