Violin Scales in Eb (Flat) Major: Fourth Scale Degree

Let's play our E flat major scale again. 1st degree E flat, 2nd degree of the scale F natural, 3rd degree of the scale G natural. Now let's talk about our 4th scale degree which is A flat. It is a flat and not a A natural because between 3 and 4 in a major scale is always a half step. So here it is A flat 4th finger right next to the 3rd finger on the D string. Between here, the 3rd, and here is our 4th A flat. Remember it is a half step.
