Shaping the Stocking for Christmas Stuffed Stocking Cookies

Hi! I'm Jennifer Cail and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to make these creative stuffed stocking cookies. With all of our stockings stuffed, you might think these look more like tube socks than Christmas stockings. Now comes time for the shaping. You want to try and have a flat end on one end, and then you're going to ever so gently bring up the other side to a slight curve. You want a rounded edge on the bottom of your stocking. This is going to be the foot. It still doesn't quite look perfect, but this is because we're going to really finish it off when we ice it. We want to continue doing this with the rest of the stockings. We're going to have 9 total. It really helps if you get them on the ungreased cookie sheet before you finish shaping them. It just gives you a little bit extra support. If you've been handling the dough a lot, it might have warmed up. If you have your oven on, your kitchen might be a little bit warm. You want to make sure that the stuffing stays in the stocking. You want to be really careful when arranging it to not have an breaks in the dough. If you flatten it out slightly, then this will also help give it a more sock like or stocking shape to it. You can finally start seeing how we're getting a stocking shape out of this. Particularly, when you get a nice rounded edge to it. You want to round that toe a bit. They're finally starting to take shape. You want to continue doing this with the rest of your dough before we go on to the next step, which would be baking.
