How to Set Up a Croquet Court
In this segment we're actually going to set up the court and we're going to start on one end. At one end you're going to need a stake and two wickets. Now there's a total of nine wickets and if you just think of the court as a figure eight all the way down to the other side where you'll have a stake and two wickets, it's set up pretty easily. Now, we've got an out of bounds, so we find the center of our court and we measure out six feet. Now if you don't have a measuring tape, you've got a mallet and my mallet's about three feet long, so I can just double it and figure out that my stake will go here at six feet. So what I'll do is I'll place a ball there and know that my stake goes there and then I'll bring out my mallet about three feet, I'll stick a wicket in the ground and then I'll come out another three feet and I'll stick another wicket in the ground. Get those kind of semi in there. Tap on them a little so they're secure so that when the balls hit them they don't come out. Come back up here, tap you're wicket in. Try to make them the same level. Get them there and then you want to come back to your stake. Make sure your stake is in the middle of the two wickets and just knock this thing in the ground. What you want to do is you want to do the same exact thing on the other side exactly how we did it there. Now to set up the rest of the court, remember, we've got a figure eight so we've actually got four more wickets to set up. We'll go the side here, we'll go back to the middle, we'll go to the other side and then we go to this situation down there and then we'll come over and they're will be one on the side over there, we'll come back to the middle and then we'll go back to the side and then come here and the court will be set up and ready to play.
