In the B flat blues we have looked over the roots that go along with the chord changes. Now we are going to move along with the chords that go on top of those roots and how they work. Let's look at the 1st chord. We have B flat dominant which includes B flat on the bottom. D, F, and A flat. A flat is the dominant 7th or the flat 7 from B flat which gives it a jazzy sound and makes a difference for major. I have also included B flat in this register cause it is impossible to play a B flat low on the flute. I will now play the B flat arpeggio in the scale, the B flat dominant scale that goes along with this arpeggio. Notice the flat 7 which makes the jazzy sound. Here is the B flat dominant scale.
