Books & Information Resources for Taekwando Martial Arts Competitions

Hi! I’m Calab Labarda with Tae Kwon Do Limited on behalf of expertvillage.com. Check at our website at tkdarizona.com. Now I’m just going to give a little bit of information about martial arts and competing and different ways when you’re kind of stuck, you don’t know how to go about it, how to look it up. I’m going to show you some stuff. First of all, the very place to go is your local library. I have a few books right here that I picked up and this called “Hand as my Sword”. They show you basic hand chops, hand techniques for self advance what is good for sparring, much different strikes. I have another here says “I do tae kwon do”, I have picked up the art of tae kwon do self defense book. They show you just a bunch of different self-defense techniques. It’s just a kind of older book, but I found at that the older books are some of the best stuff in, because they are more traditional. And another one I picked up was “This is Karate” and it just goes about much of the different martial arts, not just tae kwon do, where there is just a bunch of other different styles and that is really interesting to learn about and you know it’s just a different things to show how your hand is like a knife, how to kick, how to kick the brick wall or something like that, how to get out of… just basic self-defenses. This is just a really good book to get right here. So then, also another great thing we have here is a Century magazine. This shows products and just a bunch of different training weapons, training techniques and you can go here online, I think it is Century.com, go here, you can check out all the different things, you can order a magazine. It’s a great, they have a lot of world champions in there who show you how to use their stuff. They sell a lot of videos and different websites to check out, such as if you want to go to tournaments, check out master.com, which is the world tour right here, for some of the best tournaments in the world, they get filmed on ESPN every year and they’re just amazing tournaments the best and the best goes here. I used to compete on this and some other things to check out, if you are really into the karate tricking and flipping, go to bilang.com and you will find some really awesome videos and some cool footage of people doing some crazy stuff without wires. So check out that stuff and look into this and you will find it a lot helpful.
