Taekwondo Form Preparation for Competition

Hi! I’m Calab Labarda with Tae Kwon Do Limited on behalf of expertvillage.com. This is our website at tkdarizona.com. This is our forms competition. We have two judges at the front, they are looking for low stances, lots of power, lots of attitude, proper technique and execution of the technique. In this particular competition at the end, for first and second place, there was tie both of them scored 8.8 and 8.8… so they’re redoing their forms. So as they do it this time they have to do, they’re trying to change it up, trying to make it little more different, trying to do just something that the other person will not do and they just trying to make them look better than the other one. The form that he is doing is a traditional form… and the next gentleman you are about to see, he’s going to be, also doing a traditional form and how a tiebreaker goes, the judges are watching, we’re not actually scoring. We just do a heads down and point out to whomever we like at the end. As you see he started out with the backhand string and he is just trying to do something different, a little more flashy, but then just goes straight into traditional forms with a little stances, lots of power, snaps and yells… Now we call both students up they’re going to have their backs turned and the judges… in this case we have brought out another judge, we’re going to put our heads down, and when I say call, we’re going to point towards the right and in this case all the three judges agreed and we pointed to the first student that went up. He is a first place winner.
