Swing Beats on Bass & Snare Drums: Variation 3

Here, we'll take a look at playing the bass drum on the and of one as well as beat three and beat four over the swing ride pattern. I'll count it out for you and show you what it's all about. One, two, three, four. Okay, let's break this down. Let's take a look at the feet and see where they line up and how they dance together. So, the third stroke on the bass drum, which happens to land on beat four will line up with the high hat because we're playing on the high hat beats two and four. One two three four. One Two three Four. Add the bass drum. On beats three and four, the second two strokes of the bass drum, we will be lining up with the ride symbol. One two three four.
