We are at Sun Hoa Long Clinic, located in Chinatown, New York City. On behalf of ExpertVillage.com, we welcome you. Today, we will be doing acupuncture without needles, which is called acupressure. The same point that you stick a needle on, you could also apply finger pressure to bring relief to that area. For example, we are going to do a common point for wrist pain. To locate that point, you have to bend the wrist, right at the wrist crease, three fingers up. In the middle of that is an excellent point for any carpel tunnel syndrome and stiffness in the joint. The way you apply pressure is to hold it for about 60 seconds, rotate on that point, talk with the patient, see how comfortable their pain level is, maybe have the person move the hand around a little bit to activate the point, and rotate the wrist. Do the same on the other side as well.
