Using Shovels & Pick Axes When Building a Fence

Hi, I'm Mark Sullivan for Expert Village. Today we will show you how to build a privacy fence around your yard. Now we are going to use the pick ax to move our hole over slightly so that the pole can be vertical and closer to the line. So the first tool we use the pick ax. The pointed end is for initially breaking up the dirt. So we are going, I hit a root right away. So this digs it out and then you can use this end for cutting through roots. Now we dislodged a sufficient quantity of dirt so that we can now use the spade shovel for removing the dislodged dirt. Generally you take it like this and move it somewhere else. You can also put it in your wheel barrel but we are just going to move this aside for now.
