Using a Level When Building a Fence

Hi, I'm Mark Sullivan for Expert Village. Today we will show you how to build a privacy fence around your yard. After you have dugged your post holes you would set the 4x4 post into the hole. Then you would see if they are once you get it level. So here is the level, the bevel in the level and then you would get it between those 2 lines. Then you would also set it on this side and get it leveled. So it is between those 2 lines on your level. So that is how you use a level. If you have something horizontal to measure the level of it you simply also get the bevel between those 2 lines. Okay so then after you determine the level you have to make sure your 4x4 post is within a 1 1/2 to 2 inches of your line. Depending on your set back requirements. But this post is actually too far so we would need to dig the hole over so that the pole would be closer to the string. So now we are going to move some dirt.
