Apartment in Chinese is gong yu. Gong yu. Gong yu is a noun which requires a measure word that is tao. The measure word for gong yu is tao. If you say e tao gong yu that is an apartment. Ok, let's use what we've learned. Zu e tao gong yu. Zu is rent. Rent an apartment. Zu e tao gong yu. So gong yu is apartment.
