So now we're on measures thirteen and fourteen. And our theme is eighth rests. And this, again, is what an eighth rest looks like. And it gets held for one beat. So this one would be played like this: one, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. So simply I don't play anything for a whole beat. And sometimes it's the note that you don't play that really count. So here we go. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. So, it gives a nice little minuendo sound to it. So you can really hear that thump, thump, bump, bump, bump. It really brings out those first two notes by leaving that rest in there. So that's how it works compositionally. You definitely want to get these rhythms down. And notice you have a dotted half, half note here. And it gets three beats. And you have that spread over, so you have two quarters and a rest. So you got one, two, three, both hands together. One, two, three, both hands together. So, very nice. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. Bom. And you go out to your next couple of measures which we'll go over in just a minute.
