DOUG JENKINS: Hi. I'm Doug. I work with 20 great guys in St. Louis at Doug Jenkins Custom Hot Rods, and we're going to do some work for you today on Expert Village. The next activity here is removing the valve cover on this side. You gotta get the valve cover off to get an access to the cylinder-head bolts and to get the intake off. It interferes with that. It's just fine using an impact wrench getting things like this apart. They are torque-sensitive, the cork gasket there and the aluminum valve cover. You want to make sure, when you tighten it down, you put the right amount of--torque it correctly. But just getting it off by using an impact gun is perfect. Dan will have--most guys have two sizes of impact guns. The one he's using now is a smaller one for little jobs like this. It's got a 3/8" drive on it. For doing wheels and stuff, you've got one that's a half-inch drive. Sometimes the nuts come off; sometimes the whole stud comes off. The valve cover hasn't been on there very long so it comes off pretty easy. He's going to try to not trash the gasket as he gets it apart here.
