EMIL LAMPRECHT: Now, this clip is specifically to learn reverse chops. But something you need to learn before that to really have a good shot at reverse chops is two clubs in one hand. This is very difficult. Now, you don't need to be able to do it very long for reverse chops. So it's more about understanding the fundamentals. Now, you've, hopefully, learned to do a straight throw or a four, which is a double spin to the same hand. What you want to be able to do is at least two of those from the same hand. Now, juggling two objects in one hand can be--go a number of ways. You can go in an outside circle so that the path of the object is always going in a circle towards your outside. You can do an inside circle, which with clubs is very difficult and, usually, very ungainly, or you can do columns. For this particular trick, because you're only doing it for one beat, it's kind of like a 4-2-3. It doesn't matter which way you choose. Now, reverse chops, the reason you need to do the pattern stall is because it's a very wide swing. It's very difficult unless you're doing them everies to get a reverse chop in and all the way out and around during a single spin throw. And it doesn't look very good. So, what I suggest is being able to do two throws in one hand while your other hand follows through with the reverse chop. Now, once you can get it down to the point where you understand that, you can start looking and doing it everies. It's the same as chops, just inverted. You'll probably want to throw doubles, because singles is very difficult. And that's how you do them. It's hard for me to articulate much instruction for a trick that's so dynamic in the way that you control the clubs. Pay attention to how you're throwing them and the angle they're going at and try to stay consistent. For tricks like this, consistency is a very important part of being able to do them well.
