How to Do a Backcross Juggle

EMIL LAMPRECHT: I'm now going to talk to you about one of the favorite club tricks. It's a body throw, and it's behind the back or backcrosses. Now, there's a lot of dynamic to a backcross, and a lot of different opinions on how you should position your hand for the throw. I'm going to teach you how I do it, and you can adapt to other styles as you see fit. Now, the basics of this is where your hand goes, the club itself will eventually take care of itself. But you want your hand to come out and straight up your middle, so, your elbow is cocked-out like this. Your hand should come, at least, to the point where it's a straight line parallel with the ground, and then, as it releases the club, come out from behind you under your armpit. The reason you come out from under your armpit as opposed to like this, is that doing this takes much more energy and speed than just going like that. Here's the difference. There. There. There. There. Now, the throw itself is a little harder than most. As you bring your hand out, and the reason you do bring your hand out, is so that you can switch your grip from here to sliding the club--to the--your--the club down so your hand is at the knob. So, when you follow through you're releasing from the knob. And that is how the spin is taken care of. So, from behind.
