How to Juggle Under the Arms

EMIL LAMPRECHT: The next body throw I'm going to show is Under the Arms. The major difference in this trick than any other I've covered up to this point is that the club has to turn sideways. You are no longer throwing the club so that the head or point is outwards. It's actually pointed the side of you, and you're catching it with the handle swinging down towards your middle. Practice this one, and then, try throwing it in pattern. The two things that will, almost always, happen to you when learning this are that you're going to, first, throw way over there. If that's happening, it's probably because your arm is not traveling enough, and you're relying too much on the spin of the club to compensate for its path. The other is the opposite, is that you'll throw too far across, which means because you're used to throwing it with balls, your hand is carrying all the way over to where the release point is, making the club, because of its spin, follow a path that goes way over the other side or at towards you, which you don't want. Usually, I try to place my hand right next to my arm and upwards. If I go past that it's likely to go over or at me, and if I come too far towards my center, I won't clear my arm and will throw it way over there. Once you have it down, try it on both sides. Try adding a couple. You'll find that the more you add, the more you need to get your arms out of the way and out in front of you, which is fine. Try not to slouch but instead, just extend your arms. And that's Under the Arms.
