A trick I spent some time on in the three ball section is 4-4-4-0, or just an asynchronous columns pattern. Normal columns, as I showed you in other clips, have a synchronous beat to them, where both hands are throwing at the same time. An asynchronous version of this looks like that. For this, I like to throw doubles, though it is possible to throw singles. Most tricks that you throw doubles with, you can use singles, but again, it helps to keep them as doubles just so, a, you're practicing control of spin and height, and b, so you don't have to worry about being lofty enough in catching things in weird ways. Single spin, however, for this trick, can look pretty cool. So, start with doubles and then move from there. This is a good trick to have on both sides. Since all the throws are straight to the same hand, you do need a transition throw to switch sides, just is one regular cascade throw to make the switch. Now if you do that, which will be your instinct at first, you will find that your clubs will be crowded and you won't be able to recover. What happened was that as I threw the straight throws, I caught the first one with the opposite hand as if it was a cascade pattern, and then I ended up with two clubs in the same hand at the wrong time. Remember, it's just doing this and just throwing another one out there.
