I'm Sylva Kelegian with Expert Village and here with Simone Luncher from Pet Mania in Burbank and together we've rescued thousands and thousands of animal. She's done a lot more than me, she's been doing it a lot longer. And we've teamed up and what we do now when we rescue a dog, we get them from the shelters, we get them from the streets, we get them from people who can no longer care for them. And let's talk about the process, let's tell them what we do about, when we get a dog. Well you know, if you were looking for a dog and you came to my store and what I would do is probably interview you and just get a feel for how you feel about the dog, find out if you do have other animals at home and if you have children in your house and things like this. If everything looks great, what I do is I'll come to the person's house and make a home check and see if the fence is secure and see what kind of living arrangements, make sure that the animal also stays inside and is actually part of the family and not just like an outside dog. Something we don't believe in at all, we never place dogs just to be outside dogs, it's a very cruel and unfair thing to do. And if people do qualify, then they have to sign our paperwork and good contract which has all the good things covered, you know, take good care of your animals, bring him to the vet when he's sick, provide flea treatment, especially during the summer and then there is also a fee involved and then you're going on with your pet. Then what Sylva and I do, we just follow up with them, you know, call them back a few days later and see how things are going, you know, keep in touch with most of them. And it's normally a $250 fee, it covers their spay, neuter, microchip and shots. For the dogs, the cats are $95.
