How to Turn on the Power & Test a Ceiling Fan

Hi I'm Mark Sullivan for Expert Village. Today we are going to learn how to install a ceiling fan in your home. Now we have just turned on our breaker again on the outside of the house so the power should be back on. I'm going to turn on the switch which controls our fan and then we would see how fan and light are working. Now we are going to test our fan. This should be the light;it is working good. This should be the fan three speed, that should be high, medium, and low. So it appears as though our light is working properly and our fan is working properly. Next, we would install the change with the fob and then for these we basically hook this little clip onto here, squeeze and pull it into place. We would do that same with the light cap. Basically put the little chain. Push that into the little slot and place into place. Now we would run the fan to see if it wobbles. It appears as our fan does not have excessive wobble and it sounds quiet. The light kit works, the speed controls works and I believe we have a successful light and fan installation. So we have now learned how to remove the existing light fixture. Put the fan together and install the fan with the light kit in your home. Just remember if you have any problems, call your local electric repair man, service men and they can help you with this. So good luck.
