Installing a Retaining Pin for a Ceiling Fan

Hi I'm Mark Sullivan for Expert Village. Today we are going to learn how to install a ceiling fan in your home. Now that the down rod is screwed in and the next thing we would do is put the retaining pan through here. So what we need to do is get lined up. Then push the pin all the way through getting passed the wires. (okay let's turn this just a little bit) Okay I'm going to have to look through that hole to see where the pin lines up. There it is. So we are going to push the retaining pin through there and then we would screw in our 2 retaining screws which holds the down rod to the top of the motor.
