How to Jack Up a Car for Painting

Hi, I'm Doug, I work with 20 great guys in Saint Louis at Doug Jenkins Custom Hot Rods and we are going to do some work for you on Expert Village. When we do a full paint job we always put the car up in the air, so Tony is going to rack up the rear end first. When you are jacking up a car try to grab it in the center and we always start at the back of the car. The back of the car is always longer than the front of it. The distance from the axle to the back of the car. So if you jack the car up first you don't have enough room to get your jack handle under the rear. Now he is going to pick it up there and put it on stands. So you can shoot paint in the rear wheels. It is really easy to get it in the rockers really easy. We always work on stands, don't ever work on a car when it is on a jack it is just too dangerous. So he would prop up the back there and be able to get under the rockers and the rear wheels.
