How to Make a Tape Grid for Painting a Car

Hi, I'm Doug, I work with 20 great guys in Saint Louis at Doug Jenkins Custom Hot Rods and we are going to do some work for you on Expert Village. Now Tony has the car in the booth he is going to start masking it up. This stage is probably 4 hours. He would spin in here getting everything masked nicely so the paint lies down quick. You will not get a bunch of paint in it, he does not get paint where he does not want. He would be actually painting the car in several different steps. Mask some parts, paint, mask parts of it, paint, you don't generally go in there with a car and start shooting from one end to the other. You would blow too much dirt around, you would have too much dry over spray. You want to keep your paint surface wet the whole time and if you are painting a whole car inside and out all at once it just turns out to be too big of a mess. So here he is building some masking tape support for paper that would cover up the trunk area. Paper or plastic.
