Yoga Eagle Pose

This pose Is called eagle pose, eagle pose is a balance pose it’s also a flexibility building pose so you’re going to start with your feet a little wider than a hip width apart, maybe a shoulder width apart, and you’re going to shift your weight onto one leg, we’re going to start here with your left leg. And bending that knee, so that you have plenty of muscular energy lifting in that leg and your knee is not locked. The arms come out tot eh side and the opposite leg, the right leg here, wraps around and if you can double wrap your leg that’s very convenient to hold on. If you can just wrap the legs once and it looks more like this so if you’re double wrapping your leg you can hook your toes around the back of your calf on the standing leg and then you’ll take the opposite arm and wrap that over the other arm. So I have my right leg folded over my left and my left arm folded over my right. And again, I’ve double wrapped the arms but a single wrap looks more like this and then as you get a little more steady in the pose you can sink deeper into the pose and raise your elbows up a little bit higher. To come out of this pose, you’ll want to unwind your arms first so that you have your balance and then unwind your legs and move to the other side.
