Hi, this is Brian Carter on behalf of Expertvillage.com. I have 10 years of ceramic tile installation experience. Today I am going to show you how to make straight cuts. When you are cutting a tile you need to make sure you have a mark, you should always have a mark and you see you have got guide rails here that you can set the tile up against. Keep it nice and straight and get your mark centered. Make sure to keep your hands away from the blade, keep it separate and just like with any other kind of saw and then when you cut you are going to go very slow. You are just going to let the blade do the work and just guide it along and put a little bit of pressure it will go, if you go too fast it is going to burn up, it will even burn the tile and the blade or one of the other, which is not good for either or for you. Just keep cutting there nice and slow. Let it cut through. Notice here that you have got a little bit of chip on this tile, each saw has it own personality, sometimes you will notice that happen quite a bit on one side, but on this other side we have got a nice straight edge, looks pretty good.
