Finding Middle C for Basic Piano Chords
Hi! I am Dani Rhodes and you can find me on the web at youtube.com/danirhodes. Today I am going to be demonstrating basic piano chords. So come with me to the keyboard. Our first lesson is where middle C is because if we don’t know where the middle C is we can find anything. Middle C on a piano is just down and to the left of the name of the piano. It is the key, the white key before the two black keys and if you notice, there are many white keys before two black keys. They are all Cs but the one in the middle of the keyboard is, right there and that’s how you find it, it is in the middle otherwise you can count your Cs. The bottom of the keyboard starts at A and then that’s is a C, the white key before the two black keys as opposed to the three black keys is the 2. 1, 2, 3, 4. It is the fourth one, it is C4 or middle C or underneath the name and center. Now of course, the letters of the alphabet in music alphabet only go from A to G. We have ABC, DEF, G… ABC, DEF, G… ABC, DEF, G…. ABC, DEF, G… and so on all the way up the scale.
