How to Do a Front Hurdler
Hi, I'm Shyra from Excel Rebels in Orlando Lakes, Florida. I'm going to be doing advanced cheer leading on behalf of Expert Village. The next jump I'm going to talk about is the front hurdler. The front hurdler is also considered an advanced jump. The front hurdler is done at the side angle depending on which leg you're going to put up. I'm going to do the left front hurdler, so I'm going to turn to the left angle. You're going to start this jump, it can be started in high V or clasp. You're going to start here, your arms are going to swing down to your knees again. When they come around, your arms are going to hit a touch down motion. At the times your arms are hitting a touch down motion, you left leg is going to be kicked up to this position. Your bottom leg, which will be my right leg, is pointing down toward the ground, my knee is to the ground. So I'll be in the air this way and this foot will be up here. Then everything comes down together. Make sure that you don't have your leg turned out to the side. Your knee is going to be pointed down at the ground. So, for this jump, you're going to come to a clasp up here, swing down, everything hits, and then comes back down together. I'm going to demonstrate the jump for you.
