Pet Birds for First-Time Owners

Hi my name is Sarah and I’m coming to you from Petland in Pinborough Pines, Florida today and on behalf of expertvillage.com, I am going to speak with you today about how to buy a pet bird. When you are considering purchasing or adopting a bird, one thing to think about is what species of bird is right for you if you have never owned a bird before. We would never recommend someone who has not had a bird before just jumping right in and getting something like a cockatiel, macaw, amazon or one of the larger parrot species. Smaller birds generally are better for new bird owners. Conures such as this one would be a good first choice as they tend to be very docile, playful and social. They can be very intelligent and entertaining. They can learn to talk. When you are considering a conure you must be prepared for the noise factory. Conures do tend to be a louder species of parrot. If you are looking for something smaller that is fairly quiet, you can look for a cockatiels budgies also tend to somewhat quieter. You can also consider a love birds or some of the other parrots such as Senegal parrot. All these birds are smaller, tend to have quieter noise factor and generally tend to be very social and very friendly.
