Cooking Sausage for Baked Penne Pasta Recipe

On behalf of Expert Village I'm Laura Banford. I'm going to teach you how to make baked Penne with sausage. Now we're going to begin cooking and we are going to start with the sausage. We'll get the sausage in the pan and all the juices and the fat that will come out of the sausage, we'll flavor the sauce then continue to make in the same pan. I turned on my pan I'm going to put some extra virgin olive oil, then what you have to do is slip the sausages out of there casings cause we want crumbled sausage. So I'll slice down the middle of each one and we'll pull the sausage out of the casings and I'm going to crumble it into the pan, it's going to be in lumps but I'm going to take it back of my wooden spoon and crush it up. As it cooks it will crumble even more easily but you want it to cook through cause it is raw pork sausage and that is going to start to render out and get nice and brown, delicious. When we come back we are going to get our vegetables in the pan and start building our sauce.
