If you are considering getting a pet bird and you have never had one before, some things to look for when you are looking at pet birds at the pet store or rescue facility are you want to make sure your bird is well feathered, make sure feathers look like they are all in good condition meaning they are not torn or ratty looking, make sure your birds vent area for the quillable area is clean and free of any feces, you want to make sure that the cage that your bird is living in is clean and has been well maintained, you want to make sure you don’t see any discharge around the nostril openings, you want to make sure the eyes are clean and clear of debris; you also want to make sure you don’t see any discharge around the mouth and overall, you want to make sure your bird is fairly bright, alert and playful such as this one here.
