The Upward Stroke Technique for a Calf Muscle Massage

Hi, again this is Alexson Roy and you are watching Expert Village. Now we are going to begin the technical part of massaging the calf muscles. We have down several techniques on showing how to warm the muscle up. Now what we are going to apply is some oils and creams. We are going to apply more pressure and do strokes up from the Achilles up the gastrocnemius. But we really need to apply more pressure now. The calf is nice and warm and we want to really put our thumbs into the calf muscles. Then we kind of what to separate it with our palms. So long long strokes, deep. You want to feel yourself get into the muscles. You would probably see it better from that side, see how I'm going in to the leg. Press out. I'm going to go all along the gastrocnemius as far as you can go. All the way to this bone here, all the way to the shin over there. You just want to keep going back and forth 2 or 3 times would be good. You don't want to do it too much. Then you want to go as high as the crease of the knee, you never want to massage the crease of the knee. That is the connection point.
