Tracking Shipping Containers With Government Forms
This is Nikolai Pankratz with American Resource Network via Expert Village. And we've been talking now how the government--the American government--can assist you in international trade. So, basically, you know, the last segment was about getting in touch with the State Department or the appropriate government divisions or departments, and make sure that once the container, or once the ship, arrives, it doesn't get stuck in the port, or get dumped into the ocean. For example of a situation, we picked wood--wood lumber. You have to get from the USDA a certificate, like this, and that certificate pretty much allows you--and you will have to show it every time the container arrives at the port. Either the freight forward, that you're going to hire and that you're going to pay for doing the work for you and preparing all the documentation, is going to show it at the port, or, you know, somehow--but every time you have to show it. On that certificate, for example, are listed all the species of the lumber and everything. And, as mentioned before, you know, it has to be kiln dried, etc, etc, etc.
