Learn how to do a new type of throw called pattern stalls

EMIL LAMPRECHT: Now, in every trick I've taught you up to this point, the throw has always gone to the other hand. Now, I'm going to introduce you to a new type of throw. If you're following siteswaps, this is a "siteswap four-throw". All you're doing is throwing straight up and catching in the same hand. So, unlike under the leg, under the arm and outside throw, this is going straight up and down to the same hand. Eventually, you want to be able to juggle two in each hand. This is how you juggle four. If you can get that down, you're ready to move on to four. But for now, we're going to incorporate the four-throw into a trick. I like to call this trick a "pattern stall". But you can also find it as a siteswap reference 423. Now, all you're doing is throwing a four and then continuing your three pattern. So, as your three-throw comes in, you're throwing one up straight giving you enough time to reset your catch, and make your next throw back into the pattern. If done constantly, it creates kind of a stall-like effect to the pattern thus the name "pattern stalls." This is a great first trick to learn with a straight throw. It can lead up to many other tricks which I'll show you in other videos.
