Hi this is Ben Brennan from Austin, Texas. I'm coming to you on behalf of Expert Village and today we're going to be talking about panic attacks. Research shows that there are three simple factors that help determine whether or not a counseling relationship would be successful. The first is do you like your therapist? That's very important and it might seem trait but if you don't like your therapist, chances are your therapy isn't going to go very well in most cases. The second key is that you believe that your therapist likes you. You need to know that when you're sharing things with your therapist that they care about you and that they genially like you as a person, that's very important to the therapeutic relationship. And the third proven key to a successful counseling or therapeutic relationship is you believing that the therapist knows what they're doing and you're trusting them. You might like the therapist a lot but if you don't believe that they're on the right track or that they're going to have good insights for you, it's not going to be a very therapeutic relationship. So remembering those three keys that you like your therapist, that your therapist likes you and that you trust and believe that the therapist is confident and good at what they do, those three keys can really help you ensure that your counseling experience is going to go well.
