How to Install a Dipstick Tube into an Engine

Hi, I'm Doug. I work with twenty great guys in St Louis at Doug Jenkin's Custom Hot Rods, and we're going to do some work for you today on Expert Village. Now we're going to install the dipstick to the engine. He gets a little fluid on the gasket. There's a little seal in there. He pours a little fluid on there so the dipstick tube slides in real nicely. You can damage that seal pretty easily. It's remarkable how goofy a little seal that is, but they generally work, but they are easy to destroy. He got it all lined up pretty easily there and he's just going to bolt that dipstick tube to the back of the engine. And it goes together as you're putting the engine on, and transmission together with the bell housing bolts that holds them. And this sin;t a real sensitive situation. You don;t have to torque those bolts. Just tighten them up real good.
