Hi my name is Elliott Kwong on behalf of Expert Village. Today I'm going to teach you how to make a kaleidoscope. So when you are buying materials for your kaleidescope it can get pretty pricey if you don't know where to look. Like for the right stuff to buy so let me just give you a brief overview of the things that I had to buy. Of course I had to buy the pvc pipe that is this whole pipe here. That is pretty inexpensive if you go to your regular hardware store. It should cost no more than a $1-$2 for a good length. You can just cut it down to size that you want. The little foam installation inside the tube is also really inexpensive I got a huge long way for about less than $1. Of course I had to buy a glass cutter to cut the glass and that was about $5. The piece of glass mirror itself I already had so I did not have to pay for that. So maybe you could go to a glass shop and ask if they had any old, unused extra mirror that they don't want. Then you can ask to have that and then you can cut it yourself with a glass cutter, this was about $5. What I would say probably the most expensive part of the kaleidoscope is the mirror and you would probably have to spend quiet a lot of time just looking for the mirror in itself. Then when you actually buy it you don't want to have it cut by the people unless it is pretty cheap. The cuts of glass is probably going to be the most expensive. So just buy a glass cutter and that would be good. As far as the petri dishes you could search online for petri dishes. What I did actually I went to my school and I asked if they had any extra petri dishes around and they did. As far as the beads inside I just looked around my house and found some. I found some in school or just lying on the ground, just little things that you could put in there. Make sure you don't over spend on the kaleidoscope especially in the mirror part. But the rest of the things should be relatively inexpensive.
