Signs of a Bad Spark Plug
Hi, this is John from Expertvillage.com. In this video clip, I will be discussing how often you need to change your spark plugs in your car. Typically, a set of spark plugs will require replacement about every 20,000 to 30,000 miles depending on your driving style. For about every 2500 miles that you drive, your spark plugs will increase about 1000th of an inch. So on this spark plug here, you see that it is set to the correct specifications, however, the spark plug on the left has been not set for a while. There has been a lot of driving on it, so that is increased quite a bit. When you take a look at your spark plugs, as your gap gets wider, your engine performance will decrease significantly. So, it is always good to pull your spark plugs out and check the gap and make sure your gap is correct.
